I am a PhD student in Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Siena. My project aims to study the impact of European economic integration on national labour markets to describe whether domestic labour institutions across the EU are reducing their heterogeneity.

I am a PhD candidate in Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Siena, where I graduated in Social Anthropology. My research focuses on Digital Cultures in Western African Societies, in particular the production of new social identities and the emergence of new social agents through the use of Social Media.

Aurora Pia Placido
Title of the research project: "Exploring Linguistic Strategies and Cognitive Mechanisms in Italian-English Bilingual Speakers"
Supervisor: Luca Cilibrasi (University of Siena, DISPOC), Co-supervisor: Jan Casalicchio (University of Siena, DISPOC)
I am a PhD student in Linguistics within the Social Sciences and Humanities program at the University of Siena. My research focuses on Italian-English bilingualism, particularly on linguistic strategies in the interaction between first (L1) and second (L2) languages. I also investigate the cognitive processes underlying language use; my academic interests also include language disorders and language acquisition.

Mateo Restrepo Vera

Title of the research project: “Same pillars, diverse outcomes: the impact of intra-party democracy on the quality of democracy”

I am a PhD candidate in Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Siena. I hold a BA in political science from the University of the Andes (Colombia) and an MA in political science from the University of Milan (Italy). My research focuses on political parties, democracy and public opinion, and my doctoral dissertation examines the relation between intra-party democracy and the quality of democracy. I have also worked as a data and investigative journalist, contributing to projects that were awarded four international journalism prizes.
