Title of the project: “Identity through change”
Supervisors: Salvatore Pistoia-Reda (Unisi, DISPOC), Giuseppe Varnier (Unisi)
I am working on the concept of diachronic identity, as well as self-reference through the use of the indexical "I", in a space-time system. I am studying the behaviour of indexicals from a logical perspective, critically re-examining the Kaplanian notion of "pure indexical" in the case of pronouns. Based on the hypothesis of logicality of language, my research project entails examining the logical framework of the class of functional expressions in order to understand what it means for an indexical to be invariant under permutations.
