Place/Nation branding: identity, reputation and representation

The Workshop offers an opportunity to discuss and explore the rapidly-expanding practice of place branding. Both declinations of place and nation branding will be addressed from a multidisciplinary approach. The concept and practices of 'place branding' to improve the economic, social, political and cultural development in different contexts (cities, regions and countries) are relevant to public diplomacy and cultural diplomacy as a way to conduct foreign policy by directly engaging with a foreign public. Furthermore place branding opens up to narrative methods of place as a strategic support in planning, reputation and communication processes.
